- For Chicken Wings
1.5 lb chicken wings
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
3/8 tsp five-spice powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp AOOC Basil Olive Oil
- For Sauce
1/2 Tbsp minced shallots
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1/4-1/3 cup minced lemongrass, white parts only
1 1/2 Tbsp Basil Olive Oil
1½ tablespoons fish sauce
1 Tbsp honey
salt & pepper to taste
Directions
- Preheat air fryer.
- Place all ingredients for the chicken wings in a mixing bowl and mix to combine. (If you have time, marinate at room temperature for 20-30 minutes)
- Place the chicken wings in the air fryer basket skin side up and cook at 350 for 15 minutes.
- While wings cook, prepare sauce. Add oil to a saucepan or a deep pan over medium heat and sauté shallots until fragrant. Then add lemongrass and garlic, continue to sauté for about 2 minutes until lemongrass has reduced in volume and everything is fragrant.
- Add fish sauce to the saucepan and the mixture will sizzle. Turn off the heat, add honey and black pepper then stir to combine. Adjust seasonings to taste.
- Flip wings, increase temperature to 400 and cook 4 more minutes. Flip and cook 2-3 more minutes, or until wings are crispy to your liking.
- After finishing air frying the wings, toss them with the sauce and serve right away.
