Even without fresh figs this old fashioned recipe can be accomplished with the Abingdon Olive Oil Company’s malty yet sweet Fig Dark Balsamic.
Ingredients
- 1 fresh fig, cut in quarters
- 1 orange slice, cut in half
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 teaspoon AOOC Black Mission Fig Balsamic Vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup
- 2 ounces bourbon
- Splash of water
- Ice

In a rocks glass, muddle half the fig, one orange slice, bitters, vinegar and maple syrup until combined. Add bourbon, a splash of water and ice and stir to mix.

Garnish with remaining fig and orange slice and enjoy.
