1-1.5 lbs ground beef
yellow onion, minced (about 1/3 cup)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1-2 Tbsp Basik’s Chili Lime Seasoning Blend (add more or less to your preference of seasonings and spice)
4 buns
4 slices of pepper jack cheese
Toppings: lettuce, tomato, red onion, spicy mayo (optional)
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Baklouti Green Chili Olive Oil, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Chili Lime Seasoning. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or heat a skillet over medium-high heat on the stovetop.
- Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty and cover to melt the cheese.
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Spread a layer of spicy mayo on the bottom half of each bun (if using). Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top. Add lettuce, tomato, and red onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve the Baklouti Green Chili Burgers hot with your favorite sides, such as fries or a fresh salad.
