minutesThis is one of the easiest ways to create a hummus exclusively using the Abingdon Olive Oil Company’s product. This has a smooth nutty taste that you come to expect from a good hummus but with the AOOC Gourmet Sesame Oil instead of Tahini. Super easy side that can be prepared for lunches the whole week or served as a delicious appetizer with pita and vegetables.
Ingredients
2 15.5 oz cans of chickpeas/garbanzo beans
Basiks Taco Blend Seasoning or your preferred Basiks seasoning.
1/4 Cup AOOC EVOO
2 Tbsp AOOC Milanese Gremolata
2-5 tsp AOOC Toasted Sesame Oil
3 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1/3 cup water or saved aquafaba from chickpeas plus more for consistency
Directions
- Drain your Chickpeas and add them to the bowl of a food processor. Pulse a few times to break up the beans.
- Add 2-5 tsp AOOC Toasted Sesame Oil, lemon juice, and 3 tsp Basiks Taco Blend. Pulse for 5 seconds to combine.
- Add 1/4 cup of your favorite AOOC EVOO, drizzle in while processing. Add the 1/3 cup of water or aquafaba, and about 2 Tbsp of the Milanese Gremolata OO. Process until desired consistency, at this point you can add 1 Tbsp of water at a time to increase how smooth the hummus comes out.
- Plate the hummus with a drizzle of more Milanese Gremolata/Sesame Oil and top with a more seasoning right in the middle, or store up to 7 days in the refrigerator to have with meals all week. Serve with your favorite veggies or toast some baguette slices with a little EVOO to make crostini that will also last all week.
